Beck Co.,Ltd. (Headquarters: Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has obtained certification from the international Science Based Targets initiative<\/a> (SBTi) for its science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets under the framework for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.  About the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SBTi is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies\u2019 targets. The specific framework for SMEs provides a streamlined pathway for smaller businesses to set targets aligned with the 1.5\u00b0C goal of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The Company’s Certified Targets<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The targets certified for Beck Co.,Ltd. by the SBTi are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Background and Significance of the Certification<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Beck Co.,Ltd. aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. Recognizing climate change as a critical challenge for both society and our business operations, we pursued SBT certification to reinforce our decarbonization initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This certification signifies that our commitment to GHG emission reduction is grounded in climate science and aligns with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
