Beck Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture; hereinafter “the Company”) has obtained certification for “Science Based Targets for SMEs” from the Science Based Targets initiative (hereinafter “SBTi”), an international climate change initiative, as a science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. About the SBT (Science Based Targets) Initiative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The SBTi is a joint initiative by CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It encourages companies to set science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets (SBTs) to achieve the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5\u00b0C above pre-industrial levels. The SBT for SMEs is a framework specifically designed to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to set SBTs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Target Certified for the Company<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The target recently certified by the SBTi for the Company is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This certification demonstrates that the Company’s commitment to reducing GHG emissions is based on scientific evidence and contributes to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.
